When you first start contemplating having Permanent Makeup done, always start by browsing for your perfect artist. So how can you look for the right one?
1.Check their training and qualifications
Ensure they have the correct training for the treatment you're interested in. Not every Permanent Makeup Artist is qualified in all treatments. Make sure they have their legitimate qualifications from a certified academy.
2.Read their reviews
Always look at their reviews. What did real women experience with this artist? Were they happy with their results? Did they feel comfortable during their treatment? Did they feel they benefited from it? This always ensures you're going to an artist that other women would recommend.
3.Look for experience with your desired style and skin type
The best Permanent Makeup Artist doesn't necessarily mean the one with the biggest following. Look for an artist whose results match your desired look, whether you're after natural, soft, bold or defined. Make sure the photos line up with similar treatments you have in mind.
Does the artist have photos of women who are a similar age, or have similar features or skin type to you? This gives you a good idea of how it will look on you.
Fresh results are always lovely, but healed results show the true quality of the treatment. Would you be happy with their healed results?
5.Check whether they offer a consultation
A good artist will always offer a consultation to discuss the procedure, the healing process, your expectations and the aftercare — rather than taking your booking and starting the treatment straight away.
This shows a lot about an artist. They care about how your treatment goes, they want you to achieve the most from it, and they want you to feel comfortable whilst doing so.
6.Ask whether a top-up appointment is included
Some artists provide a top-up appointment 6–8 weeks after your first appointment. This allows any patches lost during healing to be filled in, and the pigment can be altered — whether you'd like the brows or liner darker, or the lip blush a little brighter.
It's very important to have a top-up appointment for the best possible results. It shows that an artist cares about how their work heals and wants a great outcome once both treatments are complete.
Please note: some artists charge extra for this. Others include the top-up for free as part of your treatment cost.
7.Don't decide based on price alone
You'll be wearing your Permanent Makeup on your face for years afterwards. Cheap treatments aren't necessarily better value.
Don't make the mistake that many do, thinking you've found a bargain. In reality this often leads to poor results, or even needing the work removed. It's part of why permanent makeup carries an unfair stigma in some circles — there are artists out there delivering poor treatments.
8.Trust your instincts
No Permanent Makeup Artist should pressure you straight into a treatment. You should never be made to feel uncomfortable.

Put together all these points and have a browse. There's an artist for everyone! Take it as a bit of online shopping — just for a great artist.
